I have been lucky to

Travel and photograph the world

Ever since I was little I dreamed about far away destinations. Slowly drifting on a raft over The Amazon, paddling my way across a river in Papua-New Guinea or riding a jeep through a National Park in Botswana. Today, as a travel photographer, the world is my playground!

During my travels I am most impressed by the people I meet. The ones that "own" the least, tend to give the most. Asia is the continent I love most, but I feel very much at home on the plains of Africa. An open-air cinema amongst all kind of wildlife; simply breathtaking. Even if it is for a minute, to feel like you're part of something bigger and that hasn't changed much for thousands of years. But I never leave home without my camera, because that's what I love most: travel and photograph the world as I see it.

About this website

The overview effect

Having seen so much of the world has made me realize just how beautiful and precious our earth really is. If you see it, you realize it. It's simply breathtaking at moments. And in perfect harmony. Except if it wasn't for one dominant factor on earth: us. Ecosystems that have survived for hundreds of thousands years are now threatened.

Astronauts who have seen our earth from space experience something called "the overview effect". Being there alone, in the dark and cold outer space, they see a beautiful green, blue rock. Then and there they get the overwhelming feeling that our earth is special and worth protecting. And when back on earth, that is exactly what many do.

Traveling is like being an astronaut. You see so much beauty on this planet of us. As for me, I would like to show all of that to others who don't want or can't see the world like I do. And by doing so create more awareness, making my small contribution in helping protecting this planet for future generations. So that everything living on it can enjoy it as much as I do. This website is my window to that world.
